This journey will take you around the most sacred monasteries and places in and around Lhasa, and will also include a trek from Shalu Monastery to Nartang Monastery. Shalu Monastery is located next to Shigtase, around 14km away. The trek from Shalu Monastery to Narthang Monastery, which takes 4-5 days, is a good option if your time is limited or if you want a taste of trekking in Tibet without committing to one of the longer or more difficult routes. The trek includes two passes, though neither is particularly high.
